When choosing a solenoid valve from the FLUIDITY line of Aignep, it is important to know your media. Depending upon the media and flow requirement, choose the material, orifice size, temperature, pressure, voltage, response time and approvals if required for your application.

Here are some important selection criteria as follows:

Type of valve: determine whether your application requires a 2-way or 3-way solenoid valve.

Housing material: determine the material of valve housing based on the chemical properties and temperature of the media, but also the environment the valve is in. Brass valves from serie 01F, 02F, 03F and 04F are generally used for neutral media. Stainless steel valves from serie 1XF, 2XF and 4XF has good chemical, temperature and pressure resistance. Also the stainless steel plunger and spring are in contact with the medium and must be compatible as well.

Seal material: based on the chemical properties and temperature of the media you may choose 3 different seal or diaphragm materials NBR, EPDM, FKM.

Operating time: depending upon the operating time period, you can choose anormally open or normally closed valve. If the valve opening time is shorter than closing time, a normally closed valve is preferred and vice versa.

Pressure: the valve must be able to with stand the maximum pressure required for your application. It is equally important to note the minimum pressure as high-pressure differential can cause the valve to fail.

Operation type: determine if your application requires adirect, indirect or semi-direct operated solenoid valve.

Temperature: make sure that the valve materials can with stand the minimum and maximum temperature requirement of your application. Temperature consideration is also essential to determine valve capacity as it affects the viscosity and flow of the fluid.

Voltage: choose our solenoids available in AC and DC versions in the required voltage. All of them has isolation class H CEI EN 60085 and suitable for duty rate 100% ED.

Response time: the response time of a valve is the time needed for a valve to go from the open to closed position or vice versa. Small direct acting solenoid valves react much quicker than semi-direct or indirect acting valves.

Approvals: depending upon the application ensure whether the valve requires an approval: e.g. ATEX, UL etc…

Degree of protection: ensure that the valve has the appropriate IP rating for protection from dust, liquid, moisture and contact. Our line has protection grade IP65 IEC 60529.

We hope that this quick guide may help you to find the correct valve inside our large catalogue of FLUIDITY.
